Improvisational Skills for Youth and Teen Performers
February 23, 2019, 9:00-11:00am
Workshop Director: Kimberly Fielder-Jones, Director of North Moore High School’s award-winning theater program.
This 2-hour class provides an introduction to improvisational (improv) technique for the youth actor. Improvisational skills are a must have for every actor. Performers use improv to cover during mistakes, mishaps, and malfunctions during live performances. The performers participating in this workshop will learn the fundamentals of improvisation and how to use their skills on stage. They will be taught the basic skills, rules, and philosophy through games, drills, and scene work. The performers will demonstrate their new skills in a “Whose Line is it Anyway” style performance the final 30 minutes of the workshop. New students are welcome!
