What is the moment that defines Captain von Trapp’s character for you?
“I think the defining moment of Captain von Trapp for me is when he steps up on stage at the end of the show and sings Edelweiss. It truly shows his full emotional depth and character. When the rest of the family joins him, it reinforces how he is no longer shut off from them, rather they are all reconnected.”

The Sound of Music: Youth Edition is a story of music, love, kindness, joy, and family—a story about holding onto your values even when the world around you changes. I can truly say those same values have grown within our casts, bringing us closer together as we became one ensemble. That is absolutely one of “My Favorite Things” about this experience.
Throughout our rehearsals, I have watched these young performers lift one another up, take creative risks, and share plenty of laughter—much like the von Trapp children—growing in ways that extend far beyond the stage.
