Hello, I am Rita Taylor,

Founder and Executive Director, Gary Taylor Dance and Imagine Youth Theater

We are an integral part of the local arts community producing classical and contemporary dance and theater productions, providing professional training for aspiring dance and theater artists, and creating community outreach experiences in the arts.

We are especially proud of the confidence that our community shows our work by providing support and resources to ensure each season’s success. We have been a Partner with the Village of Pinehurst since 2020, and Imagine Youth Theater continues as the Youth Theater in Residence at SCC’s Bradshaw Performing Arts Center.  Celebrating nearly two decades as a long standing, highly recognized icon of the performing arts community, Gary Taylor Dance specializes in diversified training and performance opportunities with students going on to conservatories and noted universities such as UNCSA, Point Park, SUNY Purchase, and Elon to name a few.  Our upcoming season is marked by exceptional opportunities for our dancers and actors. Known for its high quality of training and original performances, Gary Taylor Dance offers productions that delight and entertain audiences.

Under the guidance and vision of master story teller, award-winning Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer, Gary Taylor, THE NUTCRACKER returns to BPAC’S Owens Auditorium Thanksgiving weekend for the 13th season in the Sandhills!  A family favorite during the holidays, each production is intentionally unique with new cast members, choreography, and costuming to delight returning audience members. Clara’s story about her beloved magical Nutcracker, is the most involved production of the season and is only attainable with support from community, businesses, and individuals.

Thanks to our partnership with BPAC, this past year our IYT actors worked with nationally recognized performers and educators Klea Blackhurst, Sheri Sanders, and Kelli O’Hara. Moreover, our IYT actors staged three full-length productions of Broadway shows in BPAC’s Owens Auditorium, working with a variety of theatre professionals including directors Carolanne Marano of UNC Pembroke and Kim Fielder-Jones, the 2022 N.C. Theater Conference Outstanding K-12 Educator of the Year.. These opportunities don’t just benefit our young people, they help our actors create amazing theater experiences for our whole community…and you and your business can be part of that!

I am reaching out to you to ask for your help in making our 2023-24 season happen through performance sponsorship. We offer several levels of giving that will not only support young artists and performance events, but will highlight your support within the local arts community.  I look forward to hearing from you and learning how we can partner in the coming year.

Rita
