AUDITION PREPARATIon

Prior to the audition:

Actors auditioning for LION KING, Jr. MUST

• SIGN UP for a 40-minute audition slot (auditions will be in groups of five) (Scroll down)

ACTING – READ

The Director will have scripts for you at the audition and you will be doing a cold read from the show.

CHOREOGRAPHY – DANCE

Please come prepared to move and have fun. If you have jazz shoes, wear them, otherwise socks or sneakers are acceptable.

VOCAL

Please come prepared to sing one song from a musical of your choice (Disney songs are
fine). If there is a particular character in LION KING JR. that you would like, feel free to sing one of their songs from the show.

You may sing a cappella or with a karaoke track that you have downloaded to your phone.
Please do not plan to stream your music because our wifi is unpredictable. A bluetooth speaker will be available.

Actors will be asked to sing through a few warm-ups as well.

FIRST TIME AUDITIONING?

Don’t worry or let that stand in your way!

Don’t think you can sing? Sing “Happy Birthday.”

Don’t think you can act? Tell us something interesting about yourself in 30 seconds.

Don’t think you can dance? No worries, most of the kids auditioning aren’t “dancers.” Have fun and show us you can move.

You CAN do it! – and remember, everyone is cast!
