FROM THE PARENTS…
Gary Taylor Dance is my daughter’s second, and possibly preferred, home. We chose GTD for my then 4 year old because we had an established relationship through Imagine Youth Theater thanks to my older daughter’s participation in their musicals. Within just a couple of weeks my daughter had fallen head over heels in love with ballet thanks to the energy and joy the Pre-K instructor brought to the studio. When we were asked if she would like to join the performing company I was nervous she would tire of dancing so many hours; instead, her passion for dance grew deeper and it has truly been a joy to see her “grow up” on and off stage with GTD through three Nutcrackers and Spring shows. It did not surprise me when she recently declared she “sings through her feet.” I love that she has developed friendships with children her age and admiration for the older dancers. The maturity, dedication, and confidence GTD has inspired in her has been truly amazing.

We have been at the Gary Taylor Dance Studio for almost 10 years now. When we moved to the area, my daughter had been dancing a couple years recreationally so we enrolled her in the Elementary Level. Over the years, her passion for dance and ballet specifically has grown exponentially with the help of the talented, dedicated and creative teachers and faculty. Gary Taylor Dance is one of the only studios in the area to offer Pointe classes along with a more “Pre-Professional Training” schedule and environment, providing a local option for students that want to train more seriously. The studio offers a little bit of everything, dance classes for all ages/levels, variety in dance styles in weekly curriculum to create well rounded dancers along with many performance opportunities. The annual Nutcracker that is put on rivals larger city professional company productions of the classic and the spring show is always a fun highlight of other dance concentrations. For even more training, students are able to participate with the sister company, High Point Ballet as well as attend Regional and National Dance Festival’s each year. GTD has cultivated a love for dance that she plans to pursue beyond high school and the lessons she has learned from her years at the studio have set her up for success. We are very thankful for the training she has received in the last decade.
