CHARACTERS
GABRIEL JOHN UTTERSON
Serves as Jekyll’s lawyer and helpful friend. He advises the troubled doctor on personal and professional affairs.
SIR DANVERS CAREW
Emma’s loving father and Chairman of the Board of Governors. A charming and gentle man.
HENRY JEKYLL / EDWARD HYDE
Jekyll is a doctor obsessed with discovering the true nature behind the good and evil in man and Emma’s fiancee. After he uses an experimental formula on himself, his evil side – Edward Hyde – takes control. As Hyde, he is violent, commanding, and a sexual deviant attracted to Lucy.
SIMON STRIDE
The secretary of the Board of Governors and Jekyll’s rival for Emma’s affections.
LADY BEACONSFIELD
A wealthy, haughty socialite and the sole female member of the St. Jude’s Hospital Board of Governors.
BISHOP OF BASINGSTOKE
A hypocritical, sadistic man of the cloth and a member of the Board of Governors.
LORD SAVAGE
A member of the Board of Governors at St. Jude’s Hospital.
GENERAL LORD GLOSSOP
A pompous retired army man and member of the Board of Governors.
SIR ARCHIBALD PROOPS
A member of the Board of Governors.
EMMA CAREW
The daughter of Chariman Danvers and Jekyll’s beloved finacee who is refined and desired by all of the socialite men.
LUCY HARRIS
The gorgeous ‘main attraction’ at a local gentleman’s club. At the bottom of her luck, she becomes the object of Hyde’s obsession. Lucy is feisty and wild, but also cautious and aware.

AUDITION PREPARATION
Prior to the audition:

ARRIVE PROMPTLY on the day of your audition and plan to be present throughout the audition time frame.
ACTING – READ
The Director will have scripts excerpts for you at the audition and you will be doing a cold read from the show.
CHOREOGRAPHY – DANCE
Please come prepared to move and have fun. If you have jazz shoes, wear them, otherwise socks or sneakers are acceptable.
VOCAL
Prepare One Minute of Music: Select a one-minute excerpt from a musical theatre song that best highlights your vocal range, acting skills, and unique personality. This should be a piece that you feel confident and comfortable performing. Make sure your chosen excerpt captivates the essence of the character you envision yourself portraying.
There is no wifi available, so be sure to download whatever backing track you’d like to use; we will have the appropriate adaptors for your phone, tablet, or computer. Please no acapella singing.

Actors will be asked to sing through a few warm-ups as well.
FIRST TIME AUDITIONING?
Don’t worry or let that stand in your way!
Don’t think you can sing? Sing “Happy Birthday.”
Don’t think you can act? Tell us something interesting about yourself in 30 seconds.
Don’t think you can dance? No worries, most of the kids auditioning aren’t “dancers.” Have fun and show us you can move.
You CAN do it! – and remember, everyone is cast!
